BOB GARTON – Managing Director & Founder

Bob’s early career saw him undertake a range of sales and marketing, merchandising, and POS roles within Unilever. These were followed by many years undertaking layout and development planning for two multiple large format retail/DIY companies with some units having sales areas of up to 120,000 ft2.

In 1985 he was appointed Sales Director of BFN Storefitters, then the UK’s largest manufacturer of modular retail fixturing. He was responsible for recruiting, leading and motivating a sales and support team in excess of 110 people in this market leading business.

Following the collapse of BFN’s parent company in 1989, he remained a main board Director of BFN until he formed Glencourt Associates in September 1990. This new Executive Search consultancy undertook recruitment assignments for companies in the storefitting, POS/POP and retail design markets. Since that day Glencourt has grown into a business that is now widely recognised as the leading International recruitment consultancy across all senior job functions within the POS/POP, retail design, storefitting and retail fixturing markets.

After 31 years, Bob stepped back from active recruitment in August 2021 to focus on the company’s strategic expansion.
